Franklin Farmers Market is definitely worth the trip

This weekend was my first opportunity to visit the Franklin Farmers Market this season and I wanted to share my pictures with you. The market has everything from organic meats to baked goods to organic fruits and veggies. It’s still a little early in the Tennessee growing season so there wasn’t the breadth of items that you’ll see by the end of the month but it was still fun. Whole Foods was there doing cooking demonstrations and there was even a band.  I didn’t really go to the market with a plan other than to walk around aimlessly and see as many booths as possible. My husband and I are trying to incorporate more organic and locally grown items into our diets so I’m planning to make farmer’s markets a regular part of our weekly shopping.   I was particularly interested to see If Delvin Farms was there this year. Delvin Farms is a CSA that allows you to buy a box of their produce at the market without committing to getting produce every week or every other week.  Last year I was scared to buy that much produce for fear of wasting it but I’m feeling much more adventurous this year.  If you’re in middle Tennessee, check out the Franklin Farmer’s Market  any Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm from May to October. It’s definitely worth the trip.
