Blissdom & 10 Restaurants to Try When Visiting Nashville

This week is the Blissdom Conference at the Opryland Hotel. It’s a conference for women who love to blog and it attracts ladies from all over the country, from different walks of life to discuss all things blog related like developing writing skills, marketing and making money from your blog, and balancing your home life with writing a blogging. It’s so motivating to be in the company of like minded people. Last year I only went to the Saturday session and totally regretted not attending the whole thing. This year I’m there for the whole shebang and I’m Christmas morning excited.

10 Places To Eat When You Visit Nashville

Since there will be alot of new visitors in Nashville this week, I decided to put together a list of some of my favorite places to eat. This is a pretty eclectic list and should have something for just about everyone. Most of these places are homegrown Nashville originals and several are darn near institutions in this town.  They aren’t in any particular order.

Pancake Pantry

 1. Loveless Cafe - Best pancakes in town and the biscuits aren’t bad either. $$

2. Monell’s – Family style dining with a rotating menu. Real skillet fried chicken and corn pudding are a real southern treat. $$

3. Prince’s – This place is legendary in Nashville. They sell what is known as “hot chicken” and it’s not for the faint of heart (or stomach). Newbies order mild or medium. $

4. Pancake Pantry - Wonderful breakfast food. The pancakes are almost as good as the Lovelace. If you get there after 7:30 on a weekend be prepared to wait – down the street and around the corner. $$

5. Acorn -  Bar/restaurant with an extensive drink menu and a slightly upscale menu. $$$$

6. Red Pony- This place is located in downtown Franklin. Good appetizers and great creme brulee. $$$$

7. Martin’s BBQ Joint- Mouthwatering BBQ served in a rustic environment (translation – this is a rib shack with kick ass BBQ). To be fair, they have a relatively new place that’s much less of a shack than their old spot. The ribs and chicken wings are both great. $

8. Ru San’s - Japanese with a large sushi selection – Nashville might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of sushi but this place is really good. $$$

9. Anything in the 12 South Area – You have several options: Mafiaoza’s, The Blind Pig, and 12south Taproom are all good and won’t break the bank. That area of town is a great place to browse if you have some time. Very eclectic and funky. $$

10. Rotiers- Voted Best Cheeseburger in Town. Fried chicken isn’t too shabby either. This is somewhat of a Nashville landmark. $$

Price-O-meter

$ – Cheap

$$ – Budget Friendly

$$$ – Moderately Priced

$$$$ – A splurge

  1. Great list of Nashville eateries. Well done! I’d add Noshville Delicatessen near Music Row for the NY deli experience in Nashville.

Good choice. I love Noshville now that there’s one in Cool Springs.

  3. I’ve been lurking for a little bit now but am so excited to see that you’ll be at Blissdom as well (makes sense given the location). I spent about half of college at Vandy so Nashville feels more than a little like a hometown to me. Rotier’s is incredible but I’m really excited about a City House dinner while I’m in town. And will likely pick up a black bean salad at Calypso on my way out of town on Sunday…

Make sure you find me this week so we can talk food.
