Nashville Food Find-Nashville Chocolate Kitchen

When you walk into the Cool Springs Galleria, you would never expect to run into the oasis of cakey goodness that is the Nashville Chocolate Kitchen. I must admit that I’m a sucker for good cake and even more so for cream cheese icing so NCK and I were destined to meet. Founded by Miley Barcus in 2007, Nashville Chocolate Kitchen has grown to 12 full and part time employees. They specialize in small batch artisan sweets like cookies, chocolates and cakes. Their big seller “Wonderffuls” is a cross  between cake and a truffle  but I’m partial to “Le Petite Gateau” , the little cakes. The red velvet cake is phenomenal. It has the deep rich red color you get when you use plenty of cocoa in your mix. It’s super  moist and has the classic tanginess that separates real southern red velvet  cake from white cake with red food coloring.  The icing is inside the cake, so you can get some  icing with every bite.

If you’re in the Cool Springs area, stop by the Cool Springs Galleria and try one of their confections. They’re located on the first floor close to the atrium. You can contact them at 615- 472-1243.
